Oda

Did a few shots of Oda a few weeks ago in the studio, just for fun. Studio photography is my biggest challenge creativity-wise, so I need to work on that bit. Martine did the make-up and hair :)

Lomo love

So the talented Jeanett who introduced me to the Moodboard Pro app for iPad, also introduced me to an online Swedish shop selling Lomography cameras with accessories. I am a Diana lomo-geek, bringing the "plastic toy cameras", as my dad puts it, basically everywhere. I developed my first film from my Diana Mini a few months ago, and it was then I realized that I need a flash. Half of the photos were black frames, others were so blurry you couldn't see what was on them.

Living in a dark country like Norway, one needs help with the light. I bought my Diana Edelweiss in London and my Diana Mini in Barcelona, which makes the prizes in customs increase quite a lot if I were to order more. So yay for kaffebrus.com selling Diana Flashes separately! I've already ordered mine. Now I'm hesitant on ordering a ring flash for lomo cameras as well... playing with these things is absolutely awesome. I'm gonna sway a bit more on that decision.... 'till then, folks!

PS. you get cameras that meows at kaffebrus. How crazed is that? :P

Check out all the different types you can get! I crave the first one so bad....

And my Diana Mini with another Barcelona purchase...

and lastly, three of the shots from my Mini film

Hege and Pete

So, this weekend was wedding weekend, and Hege and Pete's wedding was truly beautiful. Hege is the most beatiful bride I've seen by far. Here's a preview of the couple now known as mr. and mrs. Mahoney:

You guys think it's similar enough to the moodboard I posted?Publiser innlegg

I am memory

TIME AWAY - BJØRG 2010 from Matias&Mathias on Vimeo.

Can't help but to post this one. What a beautiful, poetic short film. It's made for Norwegian brand Bjørg Jewellery. Enjoy this friday afternoon and grab an underwater tea. I know I will.
Tomorrow I will be attending the wedding of one of my best high school friends, Hege. She met her fiancé in Japan, where she currently lives. They came back here to get married, and I'm the lucky one who gets to photograph them.

I've put together a moodboard to draw a few lines around the shoot. The snow has found its way back here, and it's gotten quite cold again. I'm thinking of making the color palette blue-ish with a few warm tones. I'll post the results sometime next week.

looking forward to the day when the snow's gone and we can bring out our small café table and two chairs. Looking forward to the day when we can exhibit our photos on the sidewalk again. And really looking forward to the day when I can sit on the stairs in Ray-Bans and calf-cut Converse. Longing.

But the sign's up! Yay :)

tip!

I haven't updated a lot here, and I've found out that I've restricted myself a great deal when it comes to this blog. Feeling I only should post my own photos, making it a slow process. There's no reason why I can't post inspo, tips, love etc etc ;) Let's remove those restrictions and throw you a tip I found on photographer Jeanett Haslien's blog. Jeanett and I studied together at Bilder Nordic, and she's located in my neighbor city, Sarpsborg.

For those of you who are lucky to be the happy owner of an iPad; you should definitely treat yourself with the app called Moodboard Pro if you're doing visual work. It costs 55 NOK, and it's perfect to make moodboards, collages and collections of photos. To a photographer it's a great tool to help the models understand what kind of expression you want for a shoot, or to visualize ideas to customers. I have a feeeling I'm going to play with this alot!

I made one for Make Believe to give you an example of how they look. It's well worth the money!
